Initial Assessment
Levin takes this first opportunity to speak with the organization's decision-makers and hiring authorities to best understand the client's current and, if appropriate, long-term attorney needs. We seek to understand not just the client's practice areas and business strategy, but also the client's style and culture.
Representation
We represent our clients in a manner consistent with their goals and image. To make sure that we devote proper attention to each and every client, we take on a limited number of retained searches.
Database Review/Candidate Screening
Levin initially reviews its attorney database - and then taps into its network of contacts - to develop a list of potential candidates. Our database covers a wide range of nationally preeminent lawyers, at every level of accomplishment and in most practice areas.
All potential candidates are pre-qualified prior to submission to the client. The evaluation includes a review of abilities, academic record, depth of practice experience, motivation, short and long term career objectives, and personal attributes necessary to ensure the best fit with the client's organizational culture and particular needs. Only attorneys whose profiles closely match the search specifications established by the client are referred for an interview.
Ongoing Consultation
We know the importance of frequent and continuous consultation with our clients. Particularly when we are working on retained and exclusive searches, we make it our business to "stick" with the client until the search is completed.
Also, with our extensive network of attorney and client contacts, Levin is well-positioned to obtain a broad overview of emerging trends in the legal marketplace. This perspective is a critically important aspect of the service we provide to clients, and enables Levin to perform a consulting role as part of every search.
Negotiation & Deal Closure
Once the best candidate has been identified and interviewed, we work with the client to "close the deal," whether that means advising the client on compensation and benefits issues, reference checking or transmitting the "offer" itself. As an intermediary, we are successful in getting the parties together at this final stage.
Fees
Our standard fee agreement is available upon request, but we base our fees upon a percentage of the starting salary and guaranteed bonus any candidate is to receive as terms of his or her employment. We also provide a time-limited guarantee for the placement of any of our candidates.
